Information

The Blackwood Gallery presented a retrospective of editions produced between 1968 and 1995 by the internationally renowned artists' trio 'General Idea'. The exhibition and accompanying catalogue presented the diverse and seminal edition-based works produced by the Toronto/New York-based collective, whose collaborations ended tragically in 1994 when Felix Partz and Jorge Zontal died of AIDS-related causes. The exhibition is touring across Canada through 2004.

The exhibition and publication are financially supported by Ontario Arts Council, The Canada Council, and the Andy Warhol Foundation for the Visual Arts. Initiated by the Blackwood Gallery, the publication is co-produced by ten galleries and museums across Canada.
