Information

Euan Macdonald works in several media in order to distill meaning down to its essence. Macdonald is able to cleverly isolate an experience or a moment in time and present it in a manner that is at once light and comical, but also deeply profound. His subtle explorations provide the viewer with representations of simple, everyday moments and in sharing these occasions, the viewer is offered an opportunity to find existential meaning in often overlooked places.

Euan Macdonald was born in Edinburgh, Scotland in 1965, and moved to Toronto with his family as an adolescent. He now lives and works in Los Angeles. He has participated in numerous group shows internationally, and has had solo shows in San Francisco, Los Angeles, Vancouver, Munich, Rome, Sydney and Tokyo. His outdoor sculpture entitled the Tower - a full scale replica of the top 25 feet of the CN Tower installed at ground level, was exhibited in the Toronto Sculpture Garden in 2004.
