Organized by apexart in New York and will be presented in the Blackwood Gallery's recently opened subsidiary spaces: the e|gallery and the Image Bar at UTM.

This exhibition includes artists involved in grassroots media activism, including Paul Chan, Marcelo Expósito, neuroTransmitter, Martha Rosler, The Speculative Archive / Julia Meltzer and David Thorne, The Yes Men , and 0100101110101101.ORG (Eva and Franco Mattes). Designed to manipulate true information, or in the words of Noam Chomsky, to "manufacture consent," the use of disinformation to protect and advance the interests of global capital is common practice within today's media industry. Delving into the complex relationship between mass media and global corporate culture, this exhibition presents strategies of grassroots activism (installation, poster, video, radio, and internet art)to demand freedom of information rights and bring forward what is being omitted.
